Royal Gorge Bridge & Park Visitor Center

BDD provided structural engineering services for this fast-tracked 11,000-SF single-story visitor center located on both the north and south sides of the gorge in Canon City, Colorado.  The original visitor center was destroyed in a fire.  Due to the economic loss to the region, the new center needed to be rebuilt as soon as possible.  The design/construction team was ultimately able to deliver a completed visitor center quickly despite complications with construction happening so close to a 1,000-ft canyon.
